LEARNING BY DEGREES

Here we are in the third part of the year already. Much has been done and there is still much to do.

We are busy conferring degrees and working on the lodge all summer. Our property is looking much better and the brothers are working hard to keep it looking good.

We are back on our regular schedule of two stated meetings a month on the first and third Thursdays, with a practice night on the other Thursdays.

Our award ceremony was a great affair and the phone calls from those who couldn’t make it were fantastic. We still have a lot of certificates and if you think you are eligible please drop us a note or give us a call.

W Charles Davis Jr. picked up his award and his family stood proudly by on the sideline. By the way, both of his sons are thinking about putting in their petitions. Three generations in the same lodge. Somebody up in Dahlonega, Georgia would sure love to see that.

Our Grand Master’s Charity for this year is the Masonic Research Laboratory in Utica, New York. A lot of our members are still with us as a result of their great work.

My Solemn Vows

May everything I say and do,

Dear God reflect my love for you.

And as I am walking down life’s road,

Let me share someone’s heavy load.

May what I do to others be

What I would have them do to me.

May I show kindness every day

To everyone who comes my way.

And God, please walk beside me now

And help me keep each solemn vow.

Doris Orth

I have made vows to you, God; with offerings I will fulfill them.

Psalms 56:13

Our dining room tables are worn out. When someone asks: where did you get the new tables it would sure be nice to say "The Members bought them" What do you think? Can we put your name on one of them? There are expensive but we are a first class lodge.

Here’s a hundred dollars count me in.
