JULY 2008

LEARNING BY DEGREES

Happy Birthday America – God Shed His Grace on Thee

We will not have a meeting on Thursday, July 3, 2008. Spend it with your family and prepare for a great Fourth of July.

The District Deputy RW Eduardo Brandao will be visiting our Lodge with all of his committeemen on July 17, 2008. Let’s have a good turnout and give him a warm Hialeah-Opa Locka welcome. Don’t forget our stated meetings start at 7:30 with dinner at 6:30PM.

The Grand Master’s Charity this year is the Masonic Home. His thought is that charity should begin at home.

We have several applications for the three degrees and we hope to read them at the meeting on July 17, 2008 and start the work in August.

We are still having problems keeping up with our members. Please notify us if you move or if you are having health problems. You are always in our prayers.

Do you have your white apron? Does your family know what you wish them to do with it? Can we help?

We are now in the "Dog days of summer", as we hear some people say. But, it is also a great time to spend with family and friends. We hope that all of you are enjoying life and all it has to offer. What a great country we live in and what a great time to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative and don’t mess what mister in between.

Liberty

Dr. Robert P. May

We should oft ponder these qualities that bring joy to life

A place to live with warmth and comfort;

The financial means to maintain a family and a wife:

Our system of justice that gives us support.

We can love and worship God as our mind dictates

We live and work where we choose

And that we have opportunity—there is no debate

Without opportunity we have much to lose

Now let us remember why we are able

To stand up and salute our Star Spangled Banner:

It was earned by the blood of our Nation’s Heroes

Who gave all in a valiant and selfless manner.

The went and still go forth with gallantry and valor

And faced the enemy who would destroy our liberty

From deserts hot, to bitter cold and steaming jungles squalor

The fought and fight now to preserve that precious gift, Liberty!
